Soft hypen

A soft hyphen is an hyphenation that only shows when needed. To add a soft hyphen into a long word, you need to add the code "­" where you want the word to be cut.

Image resolution and sizes

It is important to find the right compromise between your image size and the image quality. Heavy and too large images affect the performance of your site and its ranking on Google.
A large image should be between 1600 and 2000 pixel width, and compressed as a JPG or PNG. An easily solution is to use a tool like tinyjpg to make your image lighter.

Link to a page

When linking a page to a link or a button on HubSpot, there are several options.

If you link to an internal page, prefer Link to content or link to one of your page. This way, the link won't break if the URL changes

Replace an image

Remember that you don't need to replace an image per page, especially if the same image is used in several location. You can simply replace the image in the file.

Renaming a file

If a file is renamed, the old name will still show in the URL and in the alt-text. It might be difficult to find images in the files finder once a name has been changed, especially if you want to find an image after you saw it on the website.

We recommend to give a good name before uploading the file and not to change it anymore 

Video visibility in file browser

We noticed that some videos don't show in the files, and seem missing from folders.
In order for a video to be visible when editing, "advanced features" must be toggled on.

Video thumbnail and play button colour

By default, the thumbnail of a video will be its first frame. You can change the thumbnail of your video by click "Edit video details". It's also possible to pick the orange as the play button with the bucket icon.
